Recite A Child‘s Garden of Verses

Twenty years ago I bought a book that is Rober Loise Stevenson's poems which were translated into Chinese. Actually, I was not like to read it at that time.

I think that because of two reasons. One of the most important issues is that poetry can not translate into another language. You could translate the words meaning, but could not translate the language of music. Another one is that as a teenager at that time I feel Stevenson’s book is very childish.

But after forty years, this month, I am reading Stevenson’s book A Child‘s Garden of Verses, in English, as a grandfather, I am very interested and enjoy it. It recalled my childhood experiences and memory. Also, from reciting the rhythm, I enjoy English language learning. It is different from learning English with grammar and vocabulary which makes you sick and bored and sleepy.

So，if you want to learn English and if you like English poems, I suggest you read Stevenson’s book.

二十年前，我买了一本书，是罗伯·洛伊丝·史蒂文森的诗，被翻译成中文。事实上，我当时不喜欢读。

我认为这是因为两个原因。最重要的问题之一是诗歌不能翻译成另一种语言。你可以翻译词义，但不能翻译音乐的语言。另一个是，作为一个十几岁的时候，我觉得史蒂文森的书是非常幼稚的。
