Give的七大口语实用用法

. give up 放弃：Never give up.永不放弃；

give up doing表示放弃做某事，戒掉：I should give up smoking. 我应该戒烟了；

give up on...表示放弃某人，彻底死心寒心：Don't give up on me. OK? I swear I will give up gambling. 别放弃我好吗？我发誓我一定戒赌。

. give it up for...掌声欢迎某人，为某人鼓掌：Let's give it up for the one and only, Kobe Bryant. 

让我们掌声欢迎独一无二的Kobe Bryant.

. give ... a break. 

(1)对某人别那么苛刻，儿子都已经连续做了3个小时作业了，你怎么还让他继续做呢？Give him a break. 让他喘口气休息吧；

(2) Give me a break! 这句话可以表示：你可拉倒吧。表示不信不屑。

. give ... a hard time 故意刁难某人，让某人难受：Why do you always give me a hard time? 你为什么老是跟我过不去啊？

. I'll give ... that. 这个我承认。例句1：You are very smart. I'll give you that. 你确实很聪明，这个我承认。

例句2: He is pretty understanding. I'll give him that. 他很善解人意，这个我承认。

. not give a damn 不在乎，无所谓；例句：I don't give a damn.  我又无所谓咯。
