The Town

There is a small town called Locke in Scandinavia. The town is surrounded by mountains, so the traffic is inconvenient.

This winter is colder than before. Tim gets up early to patrol along the street as usual, who used to be a soldier traumatized in the war and travelled around the world after the war. Tim rubs his hands, looks up at the gloomy sky and complains the terrible weather.

With a rusty squeak, a pair of doors open next to Tim’s house.

"Good morning! George."

"Good morning, Tim."

"You don’t look very good. What happened? "

"Last night I’ve heard some strange sounds from your house, so I didn’t sleep well."

"I am sorry. I think the sounds you heard was that I was making dumplings, which are traditional Chinese food. "

"Are they made of the ingredients you brought back when you went out shopping the other day."

"Yes! And I’ll give you some dumplings later to express my apology."

"It’s very kind of you."

Tim walks aimlessly. Suddenly, he sees a strange bulge in the snow at the corner of the street. Tim approaches, whisks the snow and a girl’s corpse appears. The little girl's eyes are wide open and her lips are blue with cold, who has beautiful straight black hair.

The news spreads quickly and the whole town falls into a panic atmosphere. Obviously, this girl is not from the town. This corpse appears out of air in the small town. The death of a strange girl ripples like a stone falling into a calm river, scaring the town.

Under pressure and considering town’s safety, the mayor of the town urgently asks Tim to help find the murderer. Well-informed, Tim has done many things for the town and is very popular in the town. Tim immediately agrees to the mayor.

Tim examines the corpse carefully, but no results. The little girl had had obvious bruises and several cuts, but she died of freezing. The trickiest part is, there is no hair, DNA or fingerprints.

In order to get more useful information, Tim decides to visit people in the town to ask some questions. He visits everywhere, hoping to get some help from the people, but people either don’t know anything or don’t open the door because of fear. Tim has to go to the mayor’s house.

When Tim walks to the mayor’s house, the conversation between the mayor and his daughter comes out from inside.

"Mary, don’t play in the van."

"Dad, I didn’t." The girl says bitterly.

"You lie again. The van is full of your hair. And I’ve told you many times that this van is important to our town."

"My god! It’s not mine. My hair is curly, but it’s straight. "

"That must have been your friends."

"No……"

"Hi, Johnson. What happened?" Tim shouted.

"Uncle Tim! Dad frames me!"

"Mary, I believe you."

"Uncle Tim is the best uncle."

"Mary, uncle wants to talk to your dad. Maybe you can play with your friends."

Mary makes a face at her father and runs away.

"Tim, you’ve always been popular with girls. By the way, what do you find out about that girl?"

"No progress, so I’m here to discuss it with you."

Johnson scratches his bald head and says, "This kind of thing has never happened before, and I also don’t know what to do. To be honest, I am frightened too."

"It’s really a tricky thing. The little girl appeared inexplicably, died inexplicably and everything becomes inexplicable in the town."

Tim and Johnson look at each other helplessly.

Tim searches for another few days and fails.

Because the thing doesn’t come to an end, people worry about the same thing happening again, and decide to go out of the mountains and escape from the town.

The town is increasingly bleak. People left one by one, and Tim is the only one left in the town.

Ultimately, the town becomes a paradise for one person and a hell for a group of girls.
