As many as 20% of all children in the United Stated suffer from some from of the learning disorder called dyslexia.

Experts on dyslexia say that the problem is not a disease. They say that persons with dyslexia use information in a different way. One of the world's great thinkers and scientists Albert Einstein was dyslexi. Einstein said that he never thought in words the way that most people do. He said that he thought in pictures instead. The American inventor Thomas Edison was also dyslexic. Dyslexi first was recognized in Europe and the United States more than 80 years ago. Many years passed before doctors discovered that persons with the disorder were not mentally slow or disabled. The doctors found that the brains of persons with dyslexia are different. In most people, the left side of the brain- the part that controls language- is larger than the right side. In persons with dyslexia, the right side of the brain is bigger. Doctors are not sure what causes this difference. However, research has shown that dyslexia is more common in males than in females, and it is found more often in persons who are left-handed. They are trying to find ways to teach persons with dyslexia. Dyslexia persons think differently and need special kinds of teaching help. After they have solved their problems with language, they often show themselves to be especially intelligent or creative.

A Tribute to the Dog

The best friend a man has in this world may turn against him and become his enemy. His son or daughter whom he has reared with loving care may prove ungrateful. Those who are nearest and dearest to us, those whom we trust with out happiness and our good name, may become traitors to their faith.

The money that a man has he may lose. It flies away from him, perhaps when he needs it most. A man's reputation may be sacrificed in a momnet of ill-considered action. The people who are prone to fall on their knees to do us honor when success is with us may be the first to throw the stone of malice when failure settles its cloud upon our heads. The one absolute, unselfish friend a man have in this selffish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or teacherous, is his dog.

A man's dog stands by him in prosperity and in poverty, in health and in sickness. He will sleep on the cold ground when the wintry winds blow and the snow drives fiercely, if only he can be near his master's side. He will kiss the hand that has no food to offer. He will lick the sores and wounds that come in the encounter with the roughness of the world. He guards the sleep his pauper master if he were a prince.

When all other firends desert, he remains. When riches take wings and reputation falls to pieces, he is as constant in his love as the sun in its journey through the heavens. If fortune drives the master forth, an outcast in the world, friendless and homeless, the faithful dog asks no higher privilege than that of accompanying him to guard him against danger, to fight against his enemies. And when the last scene of all comes and death takes its master in its embrace and the body is laid away in the cold ground, no matter if all other friends pursue their way, there, by his graveside will the noble dog be found, his head between his paws, his eyes sad but open in alert watchfulness faithful and true even to death.

The Importance of Money in Life

What were you taught about money as you were growing up? Something like "money doesn't grow on trees", or "money is the root of all evil", or maybe "all rich people are greedy"?

Well, how do you expect to become a success financially if you believe these things? You attract into your life what you are thinking about and what you believe. If you think there is not enough money in this world for everyone you will never have enough money. That is called the Law of Attraction.

Frist of all, believing that "money doesn't grow on trees" is an example of what's called lack scarcity programming. The universe is very abundant, and there is lots of money to go around for everyone. The key is to start think that you deserve the money and that there is lots of it available for you, and then you can start attracting it into your life.

And what about thinking that "money is the root of all evil"? Can you really expect to become a success if you believe that money is the root of all evil? By the way, that quote is taken out of context in the firt place. It was originally stated as "the love of momey is the root of all evil." So it has nothing to do with the money itself. Now that you understand that, you can start to think that money is in fact good. You can help people with money. You can stimulate the economy with money.

And what about thinking that "all rich people are greedy"? Well, that creates us versus them, whereby you have labeled all of "them" greedy in your mind. You, on the other hand, are very giving in your mind. That's why you don't have money, because you're not greedy. In fact, a lot of rich people got there by not being greedy. Having a giving attitude opens up a flow of money that often brings them more.

Changing your mindset from what your were taught as a child to a healthier view of money will allow you to become the financial success you deserve to be, to become the real you.

Factors to Influence the Life Span

People are living longer than ever, but for some reason, women are living longer than men. A baby boy born in the United States in 2003 can expect to live to be aout 73, but a baby girl, about 79. This is indeed a wide gap, and no one really knows why it exists. The greater longgevity of woman, however, has been known for centuries. It was, for example, described in the seventeenth century. However, the difference was smaller then- the gap is growing.

A number of reasons have been proposed to account for the differences: The gap is greatest in industrialized societies, so it had een suggested that women are less susceptible to work strains that may raise the risk of heart disease and alcoholism. Sociologists also tell us that women are encouraged to be less adventurous than men (and this may be why they are more careful drivers, involved in fewer accidents) .

Even smoking has been implicated in the age discrepancy. It was once believed that working women are more likely to smoke and as more women entered the work force, the age gap would begin to close, because smoking is related to earlier deaths. Now, however, we see more women smoking and they still tend to live longer although their lung cancer rate is climbing sharply.

One puzzling aspect of the problem is that women do not appear to be as healthy as men. That is, they report far more illness. But when a man reports being sick, it is more likely to be serious.

Some researchers have suggested that men may die aerlier because their is more strongly related to their emotions. For example, men tend to die sooner after losing a spouse than women do. Men even seem to be more weakened by loss of a job. (Both of these are linked with a marked decrease in the effectiveness of the immune system.) Among men, death follows retirement with an alarming promptness.

Perhaps we are searching for the answers too close to the surface of the problem. Perhaps the answers lie deeper in our biological heritage. After all, the phenomenon is not isolated to humans.

Females have the edge among virtually all mammalian species, in that they generally live longer. Furthermore, in many of these species the differences begin at the moment of conception; there are more male miscarriages. In humans, after birth, more baby boys than baby girls die.

Children enjoy shouting at a high wall and hearing the sound come back to them. These sounds are called echoes. Echoes have given us a number of valuable tools.

Echo sounding devices were early used in making maps of the ocean floor. Sounds or ultrasonic sounds make good tools for determining how deep the water is under ships. Sometimes echoes from ultrasonic distance finding devices were prevented from working by fish swimming past or by the presence of large objects. So ultrasonic devices have been replaced by other tools.

Radar is now a familiar tool. Like many others it was an unexpected discovery. It was first observed by two researchers, who were studying sound communication. They were sending signals from a station on one side of a river in Washington, DC to a vehicle across the river. They discovered that their signals were stopped by passing ships. They recognized the importance of this discovery at once.

All this was of course just a start, from which our present radar has developed. The word "radar," in fact, gets its name from the term "radis detection and ranging." "Ranging" is the term for detection of the distance between an object and the radar set. Today, in our scientific age, it would be difficult to manage without radar.

One of the many uses of radar is as a speed control device on highways. When a person in an automobile is driving faster than the speed limit, radar will show this clearly and the traffic police can take measure to stop him.

A pilot cannot fly a plane by sight alone. Many conditions such as flying at night and landing in dense fog require the pilot to use radar. Human eyes are not very good at determining speeds of approaching objects, but radar can show the pilot how fast nearby planes are moving.

Successful Language Learners

Some people seem to have a knack for learning languages. They can pick up new vocabulary, master rules or grammar, and learn to write in the new language more quickly than others. They do not seem to be any more intelligent than others, so what makes language learning so much easier for them? Perhaps if we take a close look at these successful language learners, we may discover a few of the techniques which make language learning easier for them.

First of all, successful language learners are independent learners. They do not depend on the book or the teacher; they discover their own way to learn the language. Instead of waiting for the teacher to explain, they try to find the patterns and the rules for themselves. They are good guessers who look for clues and form their own conclusions. When they guess wrong, they guess again. They try to learn from mistakes.

Successful language learning is active learning. Therefore, successful learners do not wait for a chance to use the language; they look for such a chance. They find people who speak the language and they ask these people to correct them when they make a mistake. They will try anything to communicate. They are can accept information that is inexact or incomplete. It is more important for them to learn to think in the language than to know the meaning of every word.

Finally, successful language learners are learners with a purpose. They want to learn the language because they are interested in the language and the people who speak it. It is necessary for them to learn the language in order to communicate with these peopele and to learn from them. They find it easy to practice using the language regularly because they want to learn with the language.

What kind of language learner are you? If you are a successful language learner, you have probably learning independently, actively, and purposfully. On the other hand, if your language learning has been less than successful, you might as well try some of techniques outlined above.

We all get the Monday blues from time to time, but there are ways to improve your working life and be happy at work. If you're going through a rough patch at work or are lacking job satisfaction, check out these ways to boost your mood and have a happier work day.

If your workday often leaves you feeling stressed and overwhelmed, it is time to clam things down by getting more organized. Firstly, make sure you arrive a few minutes early for work to give you time to organize your tasks for the day and get mentally prepared. Secondly, organize your space by clearning away clutter and streamlining your workspace. Finally, make a little of everything that you need to do that day in order to priority. If you can, try taking care of the more difficult things first to help take a routine off your mind.

Varitety is the spice of life, and this is never truer than when it comes to your working day. Following the same route day in, day out can quickly cause boredom and dissatisfaction to set in, so try making every day a little different in any way you can. Try doing routine tasks in different order, talking to someone new or taking a different weight to work. If you really can't shake up your workday itself, instead try organizing something fun and different to do on your lunch break every so often.

The Language of Confidence

The language we use programs our brains. Mastering our lauguage gives us a great degree of masterty over our lives and our destinies. It is important to use the language in the best way possible in order to dramatically improve our quality of life.

Even the smallest of words can have the deepest effect on our subconscious mind, which is like a child, and it doesn't really understand the difference between what really happens and what you imagine. It is eager to please and willing carry out any commads that you give it- whether you do this knowingly or not is entirely up to you.

"Try"

It is a small word yet it has an amazing impact upon us. If someone say, "I'll try to do that" you know that they are not going to be putting their whole heart into it, and may not even do it at all. How often do you use the word try when talking about the things that matter to you? Do you say "I'll try to be more confident" or "I'll try to do that" or "I'll try to call"?

Think about something that you would like to achieve, and say it to yourself in two different ways. First say, "I'll try to ..." and notice how you feel. Next say, "I will do ..." and see how you feel.

The latter makes you feel better than the first one, doesn't it? It gives you a sense of determination, a feeling that it will be done. Listen to the people around you and when they say they  will try notice if it gets done or not. Eliminate the world try from your dictionary and see how your life improves.

"Can't"

This is another small word with a big impact. It disempowers us, makes us feel weak and helpless, and damages our self-esteem. It limits our infinite abilities and stifles creativity. Rub it out from your internal diciionary and replace it with somehting that makes you feel great.

Instead of saying you can't, why not say something like "I chose ..." or "I choose not to ..." Using words like this allows you to take back your power and to be in control of your life.

Words may appear small and insignificant, yet they can have a deep and lasting effect on us. Mastering your language gives you the power to live whatever life you desire.

What words do you use a lot that disempowers you? Make a list of words you commonly use and then write next to them some alternatives you can use. Make these alternatives words that make you feel fabulous, not only about yourself, but about life and what you are doing!

My little niece, a ten-month-old baby, is the most lovely child have ever seen. Her brother usually babysits her in his spare time. Her face is like a red apple and her eyes are like birhgt stars. When you carry her in your arms, she likes to put her arms around your neck. All the grown-ups in the family love her very much and often try to make her smile. But quite often it is she who makes us laugh. Her father likes to take photos when she smiles. Once i winked at her and she smiled. When i did it again, she watched me attentively. Then she tired to imitate. While i closed one eye to wink, she had to close both eyes at the same time, and then quickly opened them again. And that was her way to wink. We all burst into laughter. When we looked at her again, she was staring at us, puzzled, as if she were asking, "What are you laughing at?" We all love this gorgeous, cute little baby.

English plays an important role in the workplace when used in the correct and appropriate manner, it can help boost a career or a business. Some may need or want to study business English before they start their careers. Those who are already working have the opportunity to see what they can and cannot do effectively in English in their current job.

A valuable skill to have in business is how to negotiate. You need to know what you want, as well as how to bargain and make concessions. Being able to deal with a conflict and knowing how to end negotiations can make a big difference to the outcome.

Workplace English learning will encourage professional and efficient communication, which translates as good service to customers and business partners or suppliers, which can only be a positive for any business.

To become a flexible reader, you need to know how to select and use a reading style that is consistent with your purpose for reading knowing when and how to use different reading styles will make you a flexible reader. Study reading is the reading style used by flexible readers when their purpose is to read difficult material at a high level of comprehension. When using the study reading style, you should read at a rate that is slower than your normal reading rate. Furthermore, as you read you must challenge yourself to understand the material. Study reading will often require you to read material more than once to achieve a high level of comprehension. Sometimes, reading the material aloud will also help you improve your comprehension.

Children need to learn how to budget their money. Some parents go by the "learning by doing" principle and give children lump sums at the begining of the month, and by the third week of the month their account is already dry.

On the other hand, some learn to budget their pocket money very well and even have savings at the end of the month. They do not borrow money necessarily. In other words, they learn to spend within their means. The key to doing this is to differentiate between needs and wants. Buy the necessary first, and indulge ourselves only if there is money left. This habit, when inculcated since young, stands them in good stead when they start working and earning their own money. It enables them to resists the tempt of "buy now and pay later" schemes.

Formation of any habit starts at a tender age. There is no better way to teach children to manage money than to start with their pocket money. They need to learn the importance of budgeting right from kindergarten days. It is a good i dea to start with daily pocket money and move on to monthly pocket money. When children learn to spend within their means, they are able to manage their finances well later in their lives.

Overcoming Difficulties in the Journey of Growth

Growing up, i faced numerous challenges, including academic pressure, interpersonal conflicts, emotional ups and downs, and physical health issues. One particular difficulty was in the realm of interpersonal relationships.

In dealing with this challenge, I found that communication was key. I started by actively listening to others, attempting to understand their perspectives. This not only fostered better understanding but also built trust. Additionally, I learned to express myself more authentically, sharing my thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment.

By adopting these strategies, i have found success in navigating the complexities of interpersonal relationsips, paving the way for personal growth and development.

Media and Shopping

With numerous technological advances, various kinds of media have been well developed. As result, an increasing number of people are fond of purchasing goods with the help of media, such as newspapers, radio stations, TV stations and Internet.

As we know, every coin has two sides, and shopping via media is no exception. On the one hand, it saves much time, money and effort to purchase goods through media since you don't have to go to the shops in person. Besides, you can choose what you want from an enormous variety of goods on display. On the other hand, you may be cheated sometimes by the misleading information and suffer a considerable loss.

As far as i am concerned, shopping via media brings great benefits to our life and our economy on the whole. At the same time, we need strengthened supervision over the information released via media. In this way, we can reap more benefits from shopping via media and reduce the possible harm to a minimum.

Someone important to me

The person who is most important to me is my father. My father is not only my respected person but also my best friend. He has always been there for me, supporting and guiding me through every step on my life.

He has taught me the importance of hard work, perseverance, and the value of true friendship. He has shown me how to be a kind and compassionate person and has always been a role model for me to look up to.

I want to make my father proud by following in his footsteps and becoming a successful person. I want to be someone who is not only kind and compassionate but also someone who is committed to making a positive impact on the world. I want to show my father that all his hard work and dedication paid off by making something of myself and helping others in need.

Save our earth

Although the world develops much faster and better, the resources on the earth get fewer and fewer. In order to protect them, something must be done.

Forests are the lungs of our planet, crucial for our survival. The tress in them provide us with oxygen, regulate our climate, and protect us from natural disasters. To presrve them, we need to ensure sustainable logging practices, promote afforestation, and enforce strict laws against deforestation.

Our oceans are the largest repositories of life on Earth. They absorb carbon dioxide, regulate our climate, and provide us with food and other resources. However, overfishing, pollution, and climate change have taken a heavy toll on our marine life. To safeguard them, we need to reduce plastic usage, adopt sustainable fishing methods, and enforce laws against illegal fishing.

Wild animals are an integral part of our ecosystem. They maintain the balance of nature, provide us with medical resources. However, illegal poaching, trafficking, and loss of habitats have led to a drastic decline in their numbers. To protect them, we need to enforce strict wildlife protection laws, increase awareness about animal conservation, and promote nature reserves and sanctuaries.

The importance of protecting our enviroment cannot be overstated. Our survival depends on it. The health of our planet directly affects our health and well-being. If we don't take action now, it may be too late soon. Let's come together and pledge to save our earth for future generations.

A Healthy Life Style

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is crucial for overall well-being. Here are some practices that have helped me lead a healthy life.

Regular exercise tops my list. I engage in physical activities like swimming, cycling, or hiking, which not only keeps me fit but also boosts my mood.

A balanced diet is essential too. I strive to consume a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein while limiting processed and sugary foods.

Lastly, stress management is vital. I adopt relaxation techniques like meditation, deep breathing, or spending time in nature to alleviate stress and promote mental peace.

In summary, staying active, eating well, and managing stress are key to leading a healthy lifestyle. These practices have allowed me to maintain good health and enjoy life to the fullest.

Uncivilized Behaviors in Society

Uncivilized behaviors refer to actions that go against common social norms and ethics, causing harm or inconvenience to others.

Examples of uncivilized behaviors include littering, spitting, talking loudly on phones, cutting in line, and not giving way to pedestrians at crosswalks. These actions not only affect the people directly involved but also have a negative impact on society in general.

To combat these uncivilized behaviors, it is important for individuals to be aware of their actions and to consider the impact they have on others. Additionally, governments should implement strict laws and regulations to deter people from engaging in uncivilized behaviors and to hold those who do accountable.

By working together, we can promote a culture of civility and respect, making public places more enjoyabe and safer for everyone.

Dear George,

I am Li Ke and I am glad to receive your email. I have a passion for reading books, which has been my favorite hobby since childhood.

My favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. The story tells the tale of a white lawyer who defends a black man accused of aping a white woman in a small Alabama town during the 1930s. What i love most abuot this book is its timeless message and how it prompts us to question our own prejudices and assumptions.

In addition to reading, i also enjoy hiking and traveling. Exploring new places and cultures has always been a pasion of mine.

I hope this email gives you a glimpse into my hobbies and interests. Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best regards,

Li Ke

Dear Jack,

I'm glad to hear from you. And now i'm very happy to share something about Chinese tea culture in reply to your last e-mail.

Chinese tea culture started about 4000 years ago, and tea drinking has gradually become an amazing tradition. In China, people drink tea almost everywhere and in most of their spare time. Some Chinese believe that tea benefits people's health a lot. Drinking a cup of tea makes people relaxed and refreshed. Others treat guests or firends to tea drinking in social communication.

Probably, you've got a general picture of tea culture after my introduction. Then, how about coming to China to experience it for yourself? Mabe, you will fall in love with it.

Best Regards,

Li Ke

Dear Marry,

I learned from your last letter that you have been having some trouble recently. Don't worry, i'm going to share with you how to keep a ggod attitude right now.

If your life feels like it is lacking the power that you want and the motivation that you need, sometimes all you have to do is shift your point of view. By training your thoughts to concentrate on the bright side of things, you are more likely to have the incentive to follow through on your goals.

Begin to build your confidence, and work though problems rather than avoid them. Find out what makes you anxious. Turn your "worry hours" into "productive hours". Spend your energy on everything worthwhile.

Best Regards,

Li Ke
