In the pre-Qin period, King Wuling of Zhao set up Yunzhong County here.

In the third year of Ming Wanli (1575), Alta Khan built the city of "KukuheTun" here.

The city was named "Guihua" in the Ming Dynasty.

It was changed to Guisui City during the Republic of China.

In 1954, the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region changed the name of Sui City to Hohhot City.

Today I visited the Great and Small Temples and saw the huge statue of Alta Khan on the square. It was magnificent and spectacular, very beautiful!

We hired a tour guide to explain the construction, origins of the Buddha statues, and treasures of the Jokhang Temple. What left a lasting impression on me were the exquisite peacock feather palace umbrella bestowed by Emperor Kangxi and eight meticulously crafted palace lamps. Additionally, the Buddha statues made of jade and pure gold, as well as the thousand-armed Avalokiteshvara statue, were truly awe-inspiring.
