Learning Chines VS. Learning English
Today I watched videos on the Internet of an American girl who shared her experience of learning Chinese. It was amazing that her spoken Chinese was very fluent and her pronunciation was so excellent that I thought it was better than most Chinese with southern accent like me.
She said that she had been learning Chinese for six years, and the process was very similar to our learning English, including pronunciation, listening, grammar, new words, and so on. She had immersed herself in the Chinese world every day and spent a lot of time practicing.
Yes, all learners around the world who learn a foreign language would face the same problems, no one can go away with it and get good language skills. So I think those who spend only half an hour or less every day reading, listening or practicing are not enough. I had underestimated it before, because I once thought that if I just read for an hour every day in the subway or on the bus, I would get good English skills and save a lot of time.
Now I think the thought is absolutely ridiculous.
