Delphi and VC++
When I decided to learn programming many years ago, I started by learning Delphi and later switched to VC++.
After I joined my last company, they asked me to develop Windows programs using VC++, so I did. But later I was afraid that my Delphi experience would gradually be forgotten if I don't use it in my daily work. So I told my supervisor that it would be efficient if we use Delphi to develop the program's interface. He agreed.
So I used to write programs in two languages, Delphi and VC++. The Delphi handled all tasks related to the interface and the database, and the VC++ was used to write .dll files to handle communication with the hardware. This mode worked well, and I could avoid losing the Delphi experience.
In 2019, that company laid off several departments, including me, for the above reason that I was still using Delphi, I was hired by the company I work for now, I was so lucky. I was asked to develop Windows programs using Delphi. It's humorous that I'm afraid my C++ experience will gradually be forgotten if I don't use it in my daily work now.
