今天终于找时间写了篇小作文,记录了一下这糟糕的两周。
Terrible Weeks
Sometimes, bad things seem to happen all at once, giving you no time to catch your breath.
Two weeks ago, my child suddenly fell ill. Fortunately, she recovered just two days later.
But I barely had time to rest before I was hit by the same virus. My condition was much worse than hers. I couldn't eat anything, felt dizzy and nauseous all day, and my entire body ached so much that I could hardly get out of bed. It took four long days before I started to feel better.
The very next day, I took my child to preschool as usual. But an unexpected accident happened. At an intersection, I was turning right on a green light when a car making a left turn suddenly hit mine from behind. I had the right of way, so I didn't see it coming.
Suddenly, I lost control of my vehicle. The steering wheel spun, and my car veered off the main road, turning 90 degrees before hitting a concrete structure and coming to a stop.
I was in shock for a moment, unsure of what had just happened. After a brief pause, I realized the gravity of the situation. My daughter was in the back seat when the accident occurred, and I quickly checked on her to make sure she was okay. Thankfully, she was fine.
I got out of the car, seething with anger, and walked over to the other vehicle. The other driver knew it was her fault and kept apologizing, showing me her insurance card. Given her cooperative attitude, I couldn't bring myself to say anything more. We simply exchanged information and left the scene.
Later, I noticed bruises and scratches on my hands, and my legs were still trembling for a while afterward. The accident also left me feeling anxious and worried every time I got behind the wheel. On top of that, I had to deal with the added hassle of finding a body shop to fix my car and renting a replacement vehicle while it was being repaired. It just made my life busier and more inconvenient.
Before I could even settle the car accident, my husband fell ill with the same symptoms.
It was Good Friday and the Easter long weekend, and we had been planning a little vacation. But with my broken car and sick husband, all our plans went up in smoke. Instead of enjoying a getaway, we were stuck at home.
But that's life. Things happen without warning, and we just have to face them and keep going.
