How to Build with GreenGeek’s AI WordPress Site Builder

The AI WordPress Site Builder is an excellent and efficient way to quickly build a website. It generates elements and designs based on what you tell it. Then you will be able to pick from what it generates.

If you don’t like the elements, you can just tell it to try again. Once the site is generated, you will have access to the Site Assistant, which can help you generate new content for pages, posts, and anything else.

No matter what you generate, you will be able to customize it yourself. Thus, even if you want to personally design your site, the AI site generator can still be a great starting point.

Step 1: Access the AI WordPress Site Builder

Start by logging into your GreenGeeks web hosting account. Click on the Hosting option on the left-hand side.

You will see a list of your hosting accounts, which may only have one connected. Some folks will have several accounts on our hosting platform.

Click on the “Manage” button next to the account where you want to build your website with AI.

Click on the Start Wizard option under Quick Launch Wizard.

You’ll be presented with several options to choose from. In this case, click on the Start A New Website option.

You will then be asked to select an app to create the website with. Choose the GreenGeeks Website Builder option.

Lastly, click on the “Continue” button at the bottom. This will bring you to the Quick Launch Wizard. The only option here is to enable SSL. Be sure to activate this option, as SSL is necessary for every website as it impacts search engine visibility and trust.

Scroll to the bottom and click on the “Create My Website” button.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you already have site content on this account, you will get a big warning message telling you that the site content will be deleted. This includes the .htaccess file and HTML files. This is irreversible.

If you want that content saved, take a second and create a backup that is not stored with GreenGeeks.

You’ll need to check the check box to acknowledge you understand and click on the “Continue” button to finish.

This will start deploying the website. When it is successful, it will tell you the Email used for the installation (it should be the same as what you used for your web hosting account), and it will generate a password for you. Be sure to write this down.

Note: If you run into an error, this is because you already have WordPress installed. You MUST delete that WordPress install to use the AI WordPress Site Builder. If you encounter other errors or need help, reach out to support for assistance.

Click on the “Go to WP Dashboard” button.

Step 2: Build Your Website

With all of that taken care of, it is time to go through the AI builder and build your website. It is very straightforward and requires very little input on your end. To begin, enter a title for your website, a detailed description of the site, and what kind of tone you want to use.

Next, you’ll need to tell the AI what your goals for the website are. There are several options, and you can choose multiple. Simply pick the ones that best reflect what you intend to do with the site.

Continuing, you’ll need to select the type of site you want to build. You have two choices: a Single-Page site or a Multi-Page site. In this case, I am building a Single-Page site, but the process is nearly identical.

The AI will now take a moment to begin generating designs based on what you have entered. Simply pick the design that you like best. If you are not a fan, simply go back and tweak what you entered as the description. This will change the designs it generates.

And yes, you can customize this yourself later on.

After selecting, the AI Website Builder will apply the design to your website. This may take a few moments to generate. Once it is done, you should now be logged into your website in front of the AI Writing Assistant.

Step 3: Using the AI Writing Assistant

With the site generated, it is time to customize it. When first accessing the AI writing assistant, it will try to walk you through what it can do. This is through a 9-step guide. You can go through each lesson or just click on what you are interested in.

In this tutorial, I will briefly cover what is possible with this tool. And just to reiterate, this tool is for generative content. It cannot perform any maintenance, install a plugin for you, or do things of that nature. It can only generate text and images based on what you enter.

Generating Text

The first lesson is to create or edit a page with the writing assistant. If you select this option, you will be brought to a new page where you can test this out. On the right side, you will see several AI prompts as well as a text box to enter your own.

Simply tell the AI what you want it to write.

Here is what was generated when I told it to “Create a paragraph telling customers our ingredients are locally sourced.”

Simply copy the response into the page you are building. You can then give it a new prompt to generate more text. Keep in mind that you are free to edit the text. So if you spot something incorrect or just don’t like the way it sounds, feel free to change it.

Keep in mind that you can tell the AI to use a specific tone or tell it to hit a certain word count. You can also add something like “include the keyword xxx” to tell it to insert a keyword for SEO purposes.

You can even include how many times that keyword should be entered.

AI WordPress Help Center

If you have ever had a question concerning anything related to WordPress, you can use the AI WordPress Help Center to get your question answered. This is the second option within the Site Assistant lesson area.

The chatbot will appear on the right side when opened.

The AI is trained to answer questions related to WordPress. If you try to ask something plugin-specific, it will simply tell you to refer to the plugin documentation. So, for example, if I ask “How do I clear the cache in WordPress?” the response is:

However, if I were to ask it “How do I delete comments in bulk?” it provides a step-by-step explanation like so:

Generating Images

You can also generate images with this tool. The options will appear when you add an image block to WordPress. Similarly to generating text, simply tell the AI what you want it to create.

Below the description box are some aspect ratio options you can swap between.

If you click on the “Generate Image” button, it will begin generating the image. Here was the result when I told it to “Create an image of a dancing taco”:

You can only generate 10 images per day, so be mindful of this limitation when entering the image description. The more information you add, the more accurate it will be. Click on the “Use This Image” button to add it to the post or page.

For more control over the image, you can also add things like “make the image x pixels wide and x pixels tall”. You can also tell it to only use certain colors to better match your site design.

Design Library

The AI allows you to change your design at any time. It even provides a full design library. As you might imagine, each design is generated by AI, but it uses broader prompts to create designs that work for most sites.

You cannot enter your own input here, so there’s not much to say other than to use the categories to pick a design you like.

The categories on the left-hand side can help you sort through what it generates. These include common things like an About Us page, a Pricing table, or even social proofs like testimonials and whatnot.

What is generated here is based on what you entered initially.

Uploading Various Types of Content

The rest of the lessons help walk you through adding various bits of content to your site. This includes things like adding a description for your website, uploading a site logo, uploading a site icon, and things of that nature.

There’s not much to say other than this should be done to help improve your site’s SEO. Just be aware that while the assistant doesn’t offer to generate text or images, you can just go into a post or page and have it generate the text or image you want.

Just make sure that you tell it to properly size the logo and icon you choose to generate them this way.

Once you’ve done this and have customized all of the content on your site, that’s all there is to it. The site should be ready to go. You can always add new content using AI at any time by using the text or image generator on a new post or page.
