We’ve developed an acronym that represents the seven key attributes of an
effective incident response program. PROCESS stands for Predictable, Repeatable,
Optimized, Clear, Evaluated, Scalable, and Sustainable.
To that end, each letter of PROCESS is an interdependent link in the inci-
dent response chain. Use those links as a step-by-step analysis tool to evaluate
how your current IT response approach measures up. The Incident Lifecycle is
also a series of interrelated steps that builds progressively on the previous step
and has influence on all the other downstream steps.
