③instruct [ɪnˈstrʌkt] v. 指示

④in charge负责

Tom was leftin chargeof the classroom by the head teacher.

be in charge of sth意为负责。

eg:I am in charge of financial affairs.

我负责财务事务。

be in the charge of sb意为由某人负责。

eg: The whole factory is in the charge of the director.

charge for表示要价，收费的意思。

eg:How much do they charge for the vase?

短语strike out有两个意思：

⑧obedient[oʊ'biːdiənt] adj. 顺从的

The dog is obedient, and does whatever the boy wants.

⑨at the moment表示“现在”的意思。

eg：
I'm off coffee at the moment.

我现在不再嗜咖啡了。

at this moment in time，
表示此时此刻的意思。

eg：
At this moment in time, I don't know what my decision will be.

此时此刻，我不知道自己会作出什么决定。

for the moment意为“目前”。

eg：
This house is big enough for the moment.

这个房子目前还够大。

⑩hold on意为“等等”。

eg：
Please hold on a minute.

请稍等片刻。

hold on还有一个常见意思，
即“抓住，握住”。

eg：
He still holds on to a coffee cup.

他手里仍紧握着一个咖啡杯。

hold on还有“（在困境中）坚持”的意思。

eg：
You helped me to hold on at times when I didn't think I could even go on trying.
